Bills Boost O-Line: Buffalo Signs Center Will Clapp to Protect Josh Allen After Impressive 2023 Season Allowing Just 1 Sack.

The Buffalo Bills fortified the offensive line in front of Josh Allen, by signing veteran center Will Clapp on Friday afternoon.

Clapp, 27, spent last season with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he only allowed one sack in 702 total offensive snaps. As Pro Football Focus points out, Clapp only surrendered 24 quarterback pressures during the 2023 campaign.

Clapp will likely compete for the role as the Bills’ swing-offensive guard while providing quality depth behind stalwart center Connor McGovern.

Originally chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft, Clapp has appeared in 65 games thus far in his NFL career, and arrives in Buffalo after spending the past two seasons with the Chargers.

Despite being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills challenges his offensive linemen often.

Even tight end Dalton Kincaid is aware that, with Josh Allen on the field, a play doesn’t appear to be over until the referee blows the whistle.

“With Josh… having that in-game experience, figuring what he likes to do,” Kincaid said, during an appearance on FanDuel’s Up and Adams. “It doesn’t matter where the hell you are.”

Last season, Allen completed 4,306 passes for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions.
