OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is OK after he was involved in a car crash on his way to the team’s facility Wednesday morning, the team said.
After being assessed at the facility by Ravens medical staff, Andrews attended morning meetings with his teammates. The team announced that although the three-time Pro Bowl selection was not expected to practice on Wednesday, he was previously set for a non-practice day. In the upcoming days, it is anticipated that the 28-year-old will return to practice.
“I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and well wishes,” Andrews said in a statement released by the team. “This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car.”
It is anticipated that Andrews will be a key component of Baltimore’s attack once more. In 10 games the previous season, he caught 45 passes for 544 yards and six touchdowns before he was sidelined until the playoffs due to an ankle ailment.
Andrews was a first-team All-Pro in 2021, the last season he participated in all 17 games. That season, he caught 107 receptions for 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns.
In their second preseason game, the Ravens take on the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday.

Joe D’Alessandris, the offensive line coach for the Ravens, was admitted to the hospital over the weekend due to a serious illness, the team reported on Monday.
D’Alessandris’ illness will require treatment for an “extended period of time” the Ravens said in a statement.
“The hearts of the entire Ravens organization are with ‘Joe D’ and his family, and we will continue to fully support them throughout his recovery,” the statement reads.
