PITTSFORD, New York — The starting quarterbacks for numerous NFL teams have already declared their intention to skip the preseason. Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Bills, will not be among that group.
Allen and the starting lineup of the Bills will take against the Bears in the team’s opening preseason game on Saturday afternoon, according to a statement made by coach Sean McDermott on Thursday. The starters would play “a quarter, give or take,” according to McDermott.
The way the club tackled the exhibition games the previous year was different from how Allen participated in the first preseason game. Allen did not take part in the first preseason game in 2023, but he did play in the second and third.
Although McDermott did not guarantee that Allen would participate in any more preseason games, he did leave the option open.
Caleb Williams, the first overall pick, may or may not play in the Bears’ preseason game against the Bills.
