Fulham made an initial offer for Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos, a defender.
Carlos is one of Villa’s top earners, therefore the Athletic said in this week’s DealSheet that Villa was open to offers.
With Tosin Adarabioyo leaving for Chelsea this summer, Fulham is looking to bolster their center-back options.

Along with Tim Ream, who departed for Charlotte FC, Fulham announced on Sunday that they had signed Villarreal central defender Jorge Cuenca for €6.3 million.
Although their first attempt to sign Carlos was rejected, negotiations are still ongoing, and the 31-year-old is well-liked in the Saudi Pro League.
Carlos signed a contract with Villa in the summer of 2022 for £26 million, moving from Sevilla. The deal is good until 2026.
But Carlos’s Achilles tendon ruptured in just his second game with the team, so he had to wait until last season to see consistent playing time.
In the previous season, the Brazilian played in 38 games across all competitions following Tyrone Mings’ anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Mings is anticipated to make a comeback to action after September, according to head coach Unai Emery.
Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres are more options for Villa, and Clement Lenglet has returned to Barcelona after a loan period.
