Manchester United is now focusing on other prospects rather than Manuel Ugarte chasing after of a new midfielder
Although United has been considering a trade for Ugarte, they do not plan to pay Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price, which is comparable to the €60 million (£51.4 million) they paid to sign him in 2023 when they signed him away from Sporting Lisbon.
The clubs’ estimates of the Uruguay international differ significantly, and as things stand, United is looking elsewhere.
The Old Trafford side might return to the negotiation table only if PSG lowers their demand, but no movement has been made in this regard thus far.
According to United’s perspective, talks will not be permitted to continue until the end of the market and they will only offer what they believe to be the right price for each transfer target.
As a result, negotiations between the Premier League and its Ligue 1 rivals have slowed, but PSG is at ease because other suitors are showing a great deal of interest in signing the 23-year-old.
In his first season at the Ligue 1 club, Ugarte made 37 appearances for Luis Enrique’s team across all competitions, helping the team win the league trophy in addition to the Coupe de France and Trophee des Champions championships.
He only made 21 league starts for PSG. In addition, he did not start in the starting lineup for any of the team’s six Champions League knockout games, despite starting five of the team’s six group stage matches.
Ugarte started his career with the Uruguayan team Fenix. In December 2020, he moved to Portugal to play for Famalicao, and in the summer of 2021, he joined Sporting.
