Luke Shaw will miss the start of Manchester United’s 2024-25 season due to a calf injury.
Luke Shaw’s calf injury will keep him out of the Manchester United team starting in 2024–2025, the team confirmed in a statement. Shaw is “working hard on his rehabilitation with a view to being available after the first international break,” the statement continued.
It is now anticipated that the 29-year-old will miss United’s Premier League games against Liverpool, Fulham, and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Shaw was recovering from a hamstring strain when he made his England comeback at the European Championship.

The left-back was not present for United’s Community Shield penalty shootout loss to rival Manchester City, therefore Harry Amass and Erik ten Hag are now the only healthy natural left-backs for the team. Lisandro Martinez, a central defender, got the start in that role on Saturday.
Tyrell Malacia is still working at Carrington to complete his rehabilitation after being sidelined for over a year. Noussair Mazraoui, a right back for Bayern Munich who has also played left back, is close to joining United.
Shaw only made 15 appearances in all competitions last season as a result of several injury-related misses.
At Old Trafford on Friday, United takes on Marco Silva’s Fulham in the Premier League opener.
United’s injury problems continue

Although Shaw’s absence in the first few weeks of the new campaign is unfortunate, United must learn to live without their first-choice left-back.
Due to an injury he sustained last season, he missed over three quarters of the game.
Releasing himself too soon after injuring his hamstring against Aston Villa and making it worse at Luton Town in February, he blamed himself and United’s medical staff in June.
Due to Shaw’s history of injuries, there were concerns when Gareth Southgate chose a partially fit player for the England team during the Euros; although making three appearances overall, he was only able to start the championship game.
Despite replacing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, new signing Mazraoui might be quickly called in at left-back with Shaw and Malacia out of the picture.
Similar to this, Wan-Bissaka was frequently compelled to fill in as a left-back last season because of Shaw and Malacia’s unavailability. Although United had hoped to move over their injury issues, they still exist.
