NHL Fans Speak Out: Officiating Issues and LTIR Rule Changes

The NHL would not exist without its supporters. Without fans, the league would not be able to sustain itself financially since there would be no one to fill stadiums, watch on TV, or fervently support their favorite clubs and players.

Although fan voices have a lot of power, they may get lost in the dialogues and stories of the mainstream. We would thus like to speak with you, as The Athletic’s readership comprises many knowledgeable, ardent hockey fans.

We would like you to participate in a general NHL survey, which should take five minutes or less to complete. This poll is more state-of-the-league in nature than the one from last year, which was more prediction-based. This article will not rehash the discussion of returning to a conference-style, one-to-eight seed playoff structure that was previously conducted in a 2023 poll, which received overwhelming approval from voters.

You have the option to “skip” any question, so you can finish the survey without responding to every one of them. Later this summer, the findings will be disclosed and examined in an article.
