The Arsenal Exodus: Jordan Reece Joins Manchester United in Medical Department Shake-Up

Jordan Reece, a physiotherapist for Arsenal, is expected to join Manchester United.

Reece will move to Manchester to work with former medical services director of Arsenal Gary O’Driscoll. O’Driscoll was brought in to spearhead transformation and update the team’s medical department when he joined United last summer.

Reece will take over as United’s chief physiotherapist, essentially taking over for Robin Sadler, who departed in January. His start date is still pending, and it is been reported that his hiring is a demonstration of the critical need of having a good medical department rather than a response to United’s injury problems from the previous campaign.

After Erik ten Hag’s team dealt with more than 60 separate instances of illness or injury during the previous season, United is currently looking into potential trends underlying their persistent injury problems.

Ten Hag contrasted leading the first team the previous season to not being able to select his best starting lineup during the previous campaign. “swimming with your hands tied behind your back”.

But in April, the 54-year-old did admit that he “had an idea” about what was behind his team’s injury crisis and that he would “deal with it.”
